Birds

Look at this epicness

Does he care that it’s spring and yet there is snow on the ground?

Well, maybe a little.

Bird photography, so many people walking around, cradling their telephoto lenses, lightly illuminated by the early morning sun, looking for birds.

And I, I stand on my snow-covered deck in my socks and PJs (I do not make wise choices) to snap some photos of birds who forgot to read the weather report.

First Robin of Spring, not even close.

I’ve tried to become more intentional with my photography. More planning, less reacting. Yet, the photos I enjoy the most are the ones I don’t plan out. The ones I grab my camera and snap some photos before, in this case, the birds get annoyed and take off.

I play with white balance, check out my focal plane, what mistakes I made, and, hopefully, what techniques I did correctly. I’m not going to critique these photos, at least not today, because, honestly, this was for fun. Once I practice enough bird photography, maybe even my ‘for fun’ photos will display some technical skill, but for now, I attempted, and I have a photo I’m using for my phone wallpaper.

Fluffy ball of rage.
