The many of photography blogs I’ve come across these days do less talking and more selling. There is a reason I have more photography bags than my closet can hold. Those blogs that don’t mainly sell provide tons of information\u2014how to set up lighting, tips on the best camera settings for sunset photography, or how to start a photography business. A quick internet search will give you more advice than your brain can absorb. There are even sites that collect links to other sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that even the “standard rules”\u2014like the Sunny f\/16 rule or the famous rule of thirds\u2014work in most cases, but not all. Blogs discuss that too: the importance of learning when to challenge the rules.<\/p>\n\n\n

Well, you should know what I’m about to write\u2026 not this blog. No, I don’t mean I disagree with ignoring the rules, wow, bad writing on my part. No, I mean my blog is not about advice, links, selling stuff, or what have you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog is more about my personal journey with photography. And yes, I\u2019ll share what works for me, but it\u2019s more about evolving and growing than about imparting wisdom. I wanted a place to share my photos where they\u2019re not buried in the chaos of social media (instead, they\u2019re buried in the vastness of the internet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am I trying to attract clients or start a business? Would I have chosen such an adorably whimsical logo if I were? Nah. If you ever see my logo change to something minimalist and boring, you\u2019ll know\u2014maybe I\u2019m heading in that direction.<\/p>\n\n\n

Maybe I\u2019ll look back on these posts and hit delete. I don\u2019t really have anything to prove, other than whether I can conquer WordPress and actually make a website.
